Come and join us for a night of fun and music on September 23, 2016. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chorus under the current music director, Mrs. Carolyn Hill, will be performing live in Perth, Ontario!!! It is a fundraiser like no other.
The OPP Chorus was formed in 1998 and is supported by the Communications Support Unit of O.P.P. Corporate Communications. The current Chorus membership is made up primarily of volunteer friends of the OPP. The Chorus mandate expresses "Police and Community…On the Same Beat". As Goodwill Ambassadors the Chorus represents the O.P.P whenever requested, sharing their voices in song for various O.P.P. functions as well as performing at many venues throughout the province. The chorus sings in Churches, nursing homes and senior’s residences as well as for service clubs and community events. The Chorus members are very proud to represent the O.P.P. at the police memorials held annually in Toronto and Ottawa.
Performing around the province, they help organizations like ours raise funds for much needed services in our community. All proceeds will be going to support our escorted medical transportation service for clients who are undergoing dialysis or other treatments. Did you know that the cost of transportation for a client receiving dialysis in Smiths Falls, alone, is approximately $46/day, $138/week, $552/month. Depending on which hospital they are dialysed in, the cost could be as much as $100/day for this much needed life saving treatment.
CHSLC currently drives 16 clients to Smiths Falls, Kingston and Ottawa for dialysis three times a week. Events such as this, help raise money to keep services like this affordable.
Come join us for a great musical evening.
